FAQ

Questions about Ship iOS and App Store shipping

Short, factual answers about the product, what buyers receive, what they still need to do, and the practical steps behind publishing an iOS app.

What is Ship iOS?

Ship iOS is a founding-customer pre-order for a SwiftUI starter project. It is designed to help developers turn an existing web product, project, or app idea into a native iOS app and work through the setup, testing, and App Store preparation steps.

How do I turn a website or web app into an iOS app?

Start by listing the web product's essential screens, data flows, authentication, payments, and device features. Rebuild the mobile experience as native SwiftUI screens, connect it to the existing backend where appropriate, add iOS signing and privacy details, test it on real devices, and prepare the App Store listing. Ship iOS is planned as a reusable starting project and guide for that work; it is not an automatic website wrapper or one-click converter.

Do I need an Apple Developer account?

Yes, you need your own Apple Developer Program membership to distribute an app through the App Store. You also remain responsible for your App Store Connect account, agreements, tax and banking details, certificates, identifiers, and Apple's current fees and requirements.

What do I need before adapting my web product for iOS?

You should have a clear description of the product's main mobile workflow, brand assets, app name, icons and screenshots, privacy details, and access to any backend or API the app needs. If the app sells digital subscriptions, you will also need App Store Connect products and your own RevenueCat account for the included subscription setup.

How long does it take to ship an iOS app?

There is no fixed or guaranteed timeline. The work depends on the number of screens, backend readiness, authentication, subscriptions, testing, App Store assets, and Apple's review. Ship iOS is designed to reduce repeated setup work, but the product is still a pre-order and does not promise instant delivery or a specific approval date.

Does Ship iOS handle App Store submission for me?

No. The planned starter and checklist support preparation for review and release, but you submit the app from your own Apple Developer and App Store Connect accounts. Apple reviews every app independently, and Ship iOS cannot guarantee approval.

How much does Ship iOS cost?

The founding-customer pre-order price is $249 USD as a one-time purchase. The listed previous price is $349. Pre-orders are fully refundable before the first version is delivered; after access to the digital starter is granted, the refund terms in the Terms and Conditions apply.
